Phil has been extensively involved in the building industry for the past 20 years and has gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience as a Building Contractor, Site Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, Construction Manager, Building Consultant and most recently as a General Manager – Building before establishing K-Spec Building Consultants. As a skilled negotiator, Phil is known for his ability to get the best out of people but remains a man of principle and does not hesitate to express his convictions. He has extensive knowledge of Contracts, Standards & Tolerances, the National Construction Code (NCC) and applicable Australian Standards. A Carpenter by trade Phil holds a Advanced Diploma in Building and Construction (Management), Diploma of Justice Administration, a Diploma of Building Surveying, a Certificate IV in OH&S, Certificate IV in Building and Construction and his certificate in completed Residential Building Inspection.

Phil is the License nominee for K-Spec Building Consultants and holds the following licences across Australia: QLD – Builder – Open (Site Supervisor), Builder – Low Rise and Completed Residential Building Inspection licenses, NSW – Builder – Qualified Supervisor Certificate, VIC – Building Inspector – Limited to Class 1 and 10 Unlimited Classes 2-9 Limited 2000m2 type C only, South Australia – Building Works Supervisor and TAS – Builder – Low rise License.

Since graduating from the University of Western Sydney (Nepean) in 1999, Sokhon has spent her time in a variety of roles mainly focusing on the areas of Customer Relations and Marketing. These roles have been with some large corporations in the field of advertising, education and training.

Sokhon spent 4 and half years with the Australian Industry Trade College on the Gold Coast as the Marketing Officer. Sokhon has a Bachelor of Arts – Communications & Marketing (UWS Nepean), has completed a number of subjects towards her Master’s in Business Administration and Cert IV in Contracts Administration.

Reece is our Senior Building Inspector and 2IC, he brings passion, enthusiasm and leadership to the team; his focus will be on conducting a thorough inspection of the property without compromise and providing excellent customer service to all our clients.

Reece currently holds the following licences and qualifications:

  • QBCC Builder license
  • Trade contractor (Carpentry) license
  • Completed Residential Building Inspection license
  • Cert IV in Building and Construction
  • Cert IV OH & S.

Operations Co-Ordinator

Karyn is the first point of contact for all inspection bookings and enquiries. She has worked in the Building and Construction industry for over 6 years and have had extensive experience in new home construction with a project builder.

Karyn brings structure and coordination to our Inspectors in all the States we operate in. It can be a logistical nightmare at times, but Karyn has taken the responsibility and has made the Operations department run like clockwork.
